Online virtual phone company Phone.com has launched a series of new features for its virtual office and home phone services that let customers take advantage of call recording, advanced call screening and call tagging for no additional charge.

"As Phone.com (News - Alert) continues to grow, we are introducing more new services and new features,” said Ari Rabban, CEO of Phone.com said in a statement. “We are very pleased with our ongoing growth and service expansion."

The Call Recording feature, which lets customers record a call, notifies both parties that the call is being recorded. When users hit the record button a second time, participants will hear a notification that the recording has ceased. Calls can be recorded partially, or for the length of the conversation. What’s more, the users can access the calls online as a .wav file.

The Livingston, N.J.-based provider of VoIP phone services is offering the feature in response to customer requests,” Rabban said.

The company’s advanced call screening and tagging, another request, lets users identify callers and the number or extension the caller is trying to reach. For example when customers receive a call on their cell phone, they will know whether the caller dialed your cell phone directly or the Phone.com virtual number, Rabban added.

The new features can be turned on or off by users based on customer preferences, Phone.com said. Prices start at $4.88 a month. And the latest additions are just the beginning.

"We are continuing to add new services and will be announcing more of them in the next couple of months," Rabban said.

With Phone.com’s virtual office, users can obtain a local phone number in nations all over the globe. According to one industry site, global or international numbers can change the way international business is conducted and creates an impression for businesses by having a real International business and a genuine global company with local offices throughout the world. And users are giving Phone.com’s solutions positive reviews.

The service can also connect businesses when they are closed. Owners and employees can listen, view, play and call back voicemails. A click-to-call me options also lets customers access the business Web site allowing them to call directly from a blog or e-mail.
