Phone.com Looks to Future from Historic HQ

This week, Phone.com (News - Alert) announced historic headquarters for its new digs, and anchoring the new “Launching Pad.” The cloud communications provider is moving home base to the Hahne & Co. building in downtown Newark, New Jersey.

The coworking space, is the third of its kind, joining Nashville, TN and New Orleans, LA. Launching Pad provides an environment that is community-focused and supporting of entrepreneurship. The Newark location is also Phone.com’s third location, expanding from New York and San Diego.

The Hahne & Co. building was dedicated in 1901, and was long a place of commerce as a department store. After a $174 million renovation, the historic location transformed to evolve with modern business, and is ready to usher in another hundred-plus years.

Speaking at the June Launch Pad ribbon cutting ceremony with Newark Mayor, Ras Baraka in attendance, Phone.com CEO Ari Rabban (News - Alert) explained, “Phone.com first set up shop in Newark 5 years ago and we are extremely excited to celebrate our continued growth, by moving to this great location with so many inspiring entrepreneurs and the rejuvenating of downtown Newark all happening around us”.
