VoIP solutions seem to be slowly but surely taking over business operations. The cost savings, mobility and efficiency that coincide with implementing VoIP solutions cannot be ignored. Due to all those benefits, it’s easy to see why most companies want to purchase and use the systems as quickly as possible. However, deploying VoIP systems can take a bit of time, which doesn’t help companies that was to make the changes quickly.

Luckily, CenturyLink (News - Alert), Inc. announced earlier this week the release of its CenturyLink Business VoIP for small businesses. The new offering is a pre-configured service that delivers premium phone features at a flat monthly rate. The service, which is available immediately, enables small businesses to quickly acquire a reliable, cost-effective and advanced VoIP solution that CenturyLink manages for customers.

CenturyLink Business VoIP for small businesses uses a single cloud-based unified communications platform for business-class communications, which ultimately enhances flexibility, mobility, collaboration and customer engagement. It comes pre-packaged and fully ready to use, allowing small businesses to deploy it as quickly as possible. Customers can use their existing analog or IP phone equipment with optional softphone, or purchase new equipment.

When ordering the service, customers can choose from two packages, both of which include unlimited nationwide long distance, competitive international rates and premium VoIP features. Additionally, customers can purchase UC features –Outlook directory, calendar integration, file sharing between clients, etc.— and integrate multiple devices, such as a laptop or cell phone, to utilize their VoIP service when offsite. VoIP is known for enabling people to use their virtual office, and this solution seems to be no different. Those additional features are available for a small added cost, keeping with the idea that VoIP is an affordable option for companies of any size.

Amy Lind (News - Alert), research manager, Business VoIP and Unified Communications with industry analyst firm IDC, commented on the necessity of a solution like this, saying, “"Adoption of VoIP solutions is expanding rapidly among small businesses as they look to migrate from traditional phone services to integrated, IP-based voice and unified communications solutions to meet the needs of an increasingly distributed and mobile workforce.”

She concluded, “Small businesses generally lack budget to make significant technology investments and IT support staff, so they are looking for plug-and-play solutions that offer predictable, flat-rate pricing, require little training or ongoing maintenance and support and that are flexible and scalable.”
