Cloud computing has given SMB's and small enterprises access to professional grade information and communication technologies (ICT) which in the past would have been too costly. Not having to invest in on premises-based systems has greatly reduced their capital expenditure, thus allowing them to deploy cloud solutions that deliver the same capability. Sangoma Technologies is increasing the availability of cloud services with its PBXact Unified Cloud Communications (PBXact UCC), which has been designed to address the specific communication needs of SMBs and small enterprises.

Sangoma (News - Alert) provides hardware and software services voice and data IP communication systems in more than 100 countries for large enterprises, service providers, OEMs as well as SMBs with hosted and on premises UC solutions and other related services.

The PBXact UCC service addresses the budgetary constraints of SMB's and small enterprises with a platform that is easy to implement and operate so the total cost of ownership will continue to be low for the lifecycle of the product. The PBXact UCC is backed by Sangoma's fail safe data centers and SIPStation sip trunking infrastructure with a simple online sign up, ordering and management.

A quick start configuration wizard lets users set-up extensions, IVR and voicemail in less than 10 minutes, with number portability features so businesses can keep their phone numbers. Once the system is set-up and configured, it integrates completely with Sangoma's IP Phones, including zero-touch provisioning, phone apps and built-in VoIP security.

Everyone within the organization can access PBXact UCC from their desk phone, softphone, mobile or laptop with their unique user control panel, which allows them to manage voicemails, auto attendant, set call forwards, presence, do not disturb as well as configuring other phone features. Whether the company has a single site or multiple locations, PBXact UCC allows users to experience the same features from the same PBX (News - Alert).

The UC features bring collaborative tools used by businesses to bring employees, partners and vendors together. The conference feature doesn't have limits on the number of conference rooms that can be created, so employees can run calls without additional expenses. It also includes a Groups function to handle calls for particular jobs, such as sales or support, by configuring the number of the team members to ring simultaneously or sequentially.

Tony Lewis, General Manager USA at Sangoma Technologies (News - Alert), said the company's customers are looking for integrated solutions that will lower the overall communications costs of their organizations.

Lewis goes on to say, “The ubiquity of the internet, combined with SIP and VoIP protocols, mean high end communication solutions can now be delivered from the cloud and benefit from the software as a service (SaaS (News - Alert)) model that have become so prevalent in the tech industry.”
