ITEXPO (News - Alert) has a long history with virtual office provider, Phone.com. Since 2007, Phone (News - Alert).com has been attending ITEXPO, and much of the company’s team has attended all of ITEXPO conferences since the very beginning.

Phone.com offers innovative and economical business and home phone services for entrepreneurs, home offices, small businesses and individuals. Powered by VoIP technologies, the company offers Phone.com (News - Alert) Virtual Office for small businesses, Phone.com Virtual Number for individuals on the go, Phone.com Home Phone Plus for consumers, as well as Phone.com Mobile Office and Mobile VoIP.

“We have been fortunate enough to have been included as speakers in each ITEXPO program and have used these opportunities to contribute to the information provided to attendees and to make people aware of Phone.com,” Joel Maloff (News - Alert), vice president of channel development, Phone.com told TMCnet in an exclusive interview.

Additionally, the programs at ITEXPO have given Phone.com an opportunity to connect with current and prospective business partners, reconnect with colleagues, and create relationships. The conference has also allowed Phone.com to stay current with industry trends and developments.

“For example, the Start-Up Boot Camp program highlights cutting edge endeavors and allows us to see what others are thinking,” explained Maloff.

This year, Phone.com will not be exhibiting, but it will be conducting prearranged meetings with various business interests. Currently, the company does not have press announcements planned for this conference but that could change, according to Maloff.

Maloff will be moderating several sessions as part of the InGate SIP Trunking and Unified Communications (News - Alert) workshops that run concurrently with the main ITEXPO programs. Specifically, Maloff is speaking during the session entitled, “Selling VoIP and Unified Communications via Channel Partners” on Thursday, October 4 at 2:00 pm.

“VoIP and Unified Communications services are becoming more and more available to businesses of all sizes. It is therefore very important that sales organizations understand how to sell value rather than just price. Many businesses, such as value-added resellers, systems integrators, and marketing organizations are looking to include a VoIP or UC component into their current service offerings,” he said.

Some points Maloff will be touching on during the ITEXPO sessions include: How can you, as one of those businesses, tell if your prospective partner has a good program? What resources will you need to effectively bundle and sell VoIP or UC services? Are there management tools that your partner provides to you to better serve your clients?

This year, Phone.com hopes to take away a lot of new business from ITEXPO, but in reality, the company hopes for an outcome that is much more complex.

Maloff explained, “We intend to continue developing new relationships and nurturing existing ones. We intend to observe and learn about new possibilities and new opportunities. ITEXPO serves as the intellectual R&D for Phone.com.”
