Virtual office telephone services provider Phone.com (News - Alert) announced last week that it has inked a joint marketing partnership deal with the Tarkenton Companies. With a collaborative deal in place, the two organizations can now provide their services to one another's marketing channels and customer bases.

Founded by NFL Hall of Famer and self-described serial entrepreneur Fran Tarkenton, the Atlanta-based Tarkenton Companies operate several subsidiaries that provide a number of products and services to the small business sector.  The business group's latest venture, OneMoreCustomer, is a small business advocacy and educational network site aimed at providing entrepreneurs and sole proprietors with the tools and resources needed to succeed.

The partnership agreement will enable the Tarkenton Companies to provide its suite of web-based CRM applications to Phone.com customers. Conversely, New Jersey-based Phone.com will market its portfolio of cloud-based VoIP solutions to entrepreneurs that rely on OneMoreCustomer. The two organizations will cross-market their services through interconnected websites and a series of promotions.

"For the small business economy to bloom, small businesses need to take advantage of the features and functions that have been available only to larger organizations," Ari Rabban (News - Alert), CEO and co-founder of Phone.com, noted in a statement. "By partnering with the Tarkenton Companies, we recognized a common goal and valuable ally in our efforts to help our economy grow through the enormous engine represented by small businesses."

In a separate blog post, Phone.com adds that the partnership is sure to provide both customer bases with the professional services necessary to expand their small businesses. Each organization's offerings are ideally suited for companies with 1-10 employees. The services provided by Phone.com enable entrepreneurs to create a virtual business phone system while maintaining just their cell phone or home number.

As described by Rabban in a recent video interview, Phone.com allows sole proprietors or groups of partners to look bigger and much more professional while simultaneously keeping their personal phone numbers private.
