Intermedia Cloud Communications Announces Makoto Omi President of Japanese Operations

Cloud solution provider Intermedia Cloud Communications named Makoto Omi as the new President of the company’s business operations in Japan.

Omi previously held the position of Senior Vice President of NEC’s unified communications division, and holds over 30 years of experience in the communications industry. As President, Omi will now be responsible for all aspects of the company's operations within the country, which includes sales, support, operations, business development, marketing, and strategic alliances.

Last April, NEC and Intermedia formed an officially strategic partnership, with Intermedia being selected as NEC’s designated cloud communications provider. As part of the collaboration, the two companies worked together to create UCaaS, CCaaS, and other solutions under the NEC UNIVERGE BLUE® brand. Omi’s familiarity with the brand makes him an ideal ambassador for the solutions upcoming launch in Japan, which are currently only available in North American and Australian markets.
