8x8 Chooses Oracle Over AWS to Support Video Meetings
The need for communication and collaborations under work from home conditions drove businesses large and small to the cloud, and all the promise of the digital age. As such, scale, security and performance are front of mind for cloud communications providers.
This week, Oracle announced that 8x8 selected the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure to support the Jitsi.org 8x8 video meetings solution and it scales to support massive demand.
Between 8x8 Video Meetings and Jitsi Meet, 8x8 reports more than 20 million monthly active users worldwide. And in transitioning these services to Oracle from AWS the Oracle Gen 2 Cloud Infrastructure is providing over 25 more performance per node, while also seeing substantial savings.
Vik Verma, CEO, 8x8 noted “Oracle Cloud Infrastructure provides industry-leading security, global reach and an unmatched level of support combined with exceptional price and performance that we need now and in the future. The added benefit of a strong go-to-market opportunity on the Oracle Cloud Marketplace was also a key differentiator for this partnership.”
In recent weeks, we’ve seen 8x8 expand its list of partners, and extend presence to the U.K. SME market, cast a wider referral net, enable telehealth and more. At a time when its services are needed most, the cloud communications provider is positioning to serve as the crutch the world so dearly needs.
Are your communications in the cloud, yet?
