Cloud communications is storming on the scene, and as these high-powered, future-forward and feature-rich solutions take center stage the competition is fierce and future is in sight. Leadership is responsible for laying out the blueprint for success and recently one of the world’s most foremost cloud communications providers announced a new addition to its board of directors.

Twilio named Jeff Immelt to its board of directors, adding a former chairman and CEO of General Electric and current New Enterprise Associates venture partner to the leadership of a firm trending toward cloud communications market leadership.

“Jeff is a world class leader with deep experience guiding global operations at scale,” said Jeff Lawson, CEO and co-founder of Twilio. “His contributions will be invaluable as we help enterprises across the globe use the right communication channels to establish and nurture digital engagement with their customers.”

Over his career, Immelt earned the moniker as one of the “World’s Best CEOs” from Barron’s three times and led GE to garner the title of “America’s Most Admired Company” by Fortune magazine. Immelt is poised to not only join the board of directors but Twilio’s Compensation Committee as well.

“Twilio is leading the charge in business communications at scale,” said Immelt. “I am thrilled to join the company at such a pivotal point in their trajectory, and look forward to advising Twilio as it continues to fuel the future of communications.”

Twilio is clearing the way for its cloud communications platform to surge in the coming years, with leadership showing the way.
