Nextiva Recognized as a Top Place to Work

Nextiva is among the country’s Best Small and Medium Workplaces, according to a consulting firm called Great Place to Work and the magazine Fortune.

The Scottsdale, Ariz.-based company is a business communications services provider that offers its solutions via the cloud. The company’s Nextiva Office was selected by Technology Marketing Corp. as a 2016 UC Product of the Year Award winner. Nextiva was also among the AZCentral.com Top Companies to Work for in Arizona, Deloitte Technology Fast 500, Frost & Sullivan Best Practices Award, and PBJ Best Places to Work award winners, in addition to garnering many other distinctions.

More than 52,000 employees from hundreds of companies were surveyed in preparation for the Best Small and Medium Workplaces awards, which took into consideration employees’ anonymous responses to a survey about camaraderie, pride, and trust at their workplaces.

A video on the Nextiva website indicates the company has created a smaller scale Google-like environment in which there’s an open work environment, free food, a playful atmosphere (with basketball hoops, ping pong and pool tables, and the license to ride bikes in the office), and a dry erase board on which employees can post their thoughts.

But Great Place to Work indicates it is generosity of spirit that is the connective thread among all the winners it and Fortune selected for these awards. It noted that the companies that have been recognized tend to do things like fund employee passion projects and surprise customers with gifts. And, Great Place to Work added, the companies themselves reap rewards from generosity by creating engaged employees and higher revenues in the process.

Speaking of workplace culture, TMC itself recently launched a series of awards programs to recognize standouts in this realm in the tech industry. The virtual-pbx Workplace Excellence Awards will feature the Tech Culture Awards, Tech Diversity Awards, and Social Responsibility Awards.

"We invite technology firms that are in a constant battle to attract the best and brightest applicants to prove their commitment to culture, diversity, and social responsibility,” said Rich Tehrani, CEO of TMC and virtual-pbx’s Group Editor-in-Chief. “Show the most valued candidates that your firm sets an example in the community and provides the best possible environment for your team members."
