Digicel Newest Mitel Partner

Digicel, a mobile phone network provider for the Caribbean, Central America, and Oceania geographical regions, recently announced that it has become a Mitel partner and will begin reselling and providing support for Mitel telecommunications products.

Upon welcoming Digicel into its ranks, Philip Keenan, the vice president of Mitel's U.S. partner business, commented that its network of partners is what ultimately makes its product base strong.

“Organizations today are looking for advanced communications solutions that address their business needs and deliver measurable cost benefits and improved business performance,” Keenan said. “Mitel’s ability to deliver this value to customers is based on our strong network of partners.”

Digicel will now have the opportunity to sell and support a Mitel unified communications (UC) package that is coming to enterprises as part of a boom in cloud-based software adoption. Synergy Research Group noted this year that Mitel has almost twice as many UC subscribers as its next closest competitor. The research company also noted that the cloud communications industry as a whole doubled its subscriber base from Q3 2013 to Q3 2014 and that it expects the trend to continue upward.

Digicel has had to make it through a number of training sessions for sales and technical services to become a partner. It has had to demonstrate an expertise in all manner of communications and call center operations to help deliver exceptional experiences to its customers.

Unified communications packages such as Mitel's are the first step to creating virtual offices for call center operations. Mitel can host its call center in the cloud, deploy it on-premises, or allow businesses to benefit from a hybrid combination of both those styles. Digicel will be essential to communicating those service options as it moves forward with its new role as a reseller.
