PBX Software Release Highlights Communications Cost Savings

U.K.-based IPGENIE recently announced its latest platform, the IPGENIE v3, which allows for office calls to be routed over the Internet (VoIP) and directed to users’ mobile phones.

With the proliferation of mobile devices and because businesses are increasingly moving towards a mobile-centric system, this highlights how technology is helping companies to keep doing the things that they do without being tied to a desk. Another benefit? Businesses are seeing some serious cost reduction.

According to a recent press statement, IPGENIE provides businesses with a range of additional features, including SMS, presence, Web call back and outbound dialers.

“We’ve seen huge cost savings, as well as an increase in efficiency,” said Jez Harris, Group IT Manager, PGS Global Logistics in a statement to the press. “The ability to be able to have our ‘desk phones’ in our pocket and have calls routed through to our mobiles has made us so much more reactive, responsive and productive. As a small team with 80 employees this makes a big difference to us.”

This is all very similar to how a virtual PBX works; with hosted communications models, businesses can easily connect remote offices together and maximize the power telephone systems. Callers can remember one number but be directed to employees around the world without any extra effort.

Put that power to use via mobile, and you have a pretty powerful solution. With VoIP being the global phenomenon that it is, text messaging and long-distance calls have seen a decrease over mobile networks as free VoIP services are more easily available.

As for IPGENIE, users can expect up to 60 percent savings on their bills.

“IPGENIE have been great. Setting the new system up was really straightforward with their help and we saw the advantages immediately. And of course the financial benefits soon became apparent too. We couldn’t go back,” continued Harris.
