Cisco Unveils Free Virtual PBX Trial Offer in Russia
The Cisco Business Edition 3000 (BE 3000) is a communications platform featuring several services like hosted and virtual PBX, automated attendant, multiple extension, fax, and more, designed for growing midsize businesses.
The next generation offering is now available in Russia and the company will be hosting a free demo of the PBX to IT staff of any Russian company planning to install the service. They will have to just register for the demo to get started.
Cisco has also partnered with local providers to deliver the 3000 PBX in Russia. Demo sites are currently open at all Cisco partners premises spread throughout several cities in the country.
According to officials, the Business Edition 3000 provides the business with a much lower total cost of ownership (TCO), feature rich applications and investment protection. The Cisco Business Edition 3000 also supports fax. Fax machines can be connected to the Cisco SPA8800 IP Telephony Gateway with four FXS and four FXO pports or the Cisco VG224 Analog Voice Gateway. It even supports voice messaging-to-email integration and fax-to-email.
In Version 8.6.4, Cisco Business Edition 3000 supports voice-to-e-mail messaging, but it does not support fax-to-e-mail. The new BE 3000 is touted as powering three-digit extensions in addition to being seamlessly integrated with Cisco Unified IP Phone 7900 Series models: 7925G, 7937, 7942G, 7945G, 7962G, 7965G, and 7975G.
A recent blog post from virtual PBX provider Nextiva explains the benefits of adopting the latest communications technologies. According to the post, companies still sticking to traditional telephony equipment are big losers. Ignoring the potential of the virtual PBX could keep essential features and functions of communications out of reach simply because they’re too costly on the legacy equipment.
In fact, virtual PBXs enable any enterprise to focus on core competencies and not communications challenges. Plus, access to capabilities and calling is unlimited, without being forced to invest in new equipment or changing phone numbers.
