Phone.com's Virtual Office Offers Fun Features to Drive Professional Communications
If you follow telecommunications technology at all, you have likely heard the term “virtual office.” While this sounds like some sort of video game, it actually is a technology format that allows a business of any size to present a professional front to any potential client or partner. This is especially useful for businesses that operate smaller locations throughout dispersed geographical locations.
One provider that caters to such companies is Phone.com. In offering its Virtual Office solution, Phone (News - Alert).com offers a number of benefits and creative features that allow company clients to build streamlined communications strategies that drive both collaboration and the optimal customer experience.
Phone.com’s (News - Alert) Virtual Office offers such features as the Personal PBX. This feature provides one local number and the use of a menu and dial by name directory that allows calls to be forwarded to the appropriate person – even if they are located hundreds or thousands of miles away. This helps to create continuity in the presentation of the business.
The Virtual Office also offers the option of 50 local numbers to support a nationwide “local” marketing campaign. What this means is if a business is hoping to market a particular product or service, they will place ads in a number of different channels that will reach their target audience. Each channel – such as one magazine title – would have its own phone number so the volume of calls made as a result of that channel can be captured. This method helps to drive much more efficiency in the marketing campaign as it allows the company to continue with those channels that drive leads and drop those that do not. Click-to-Call is a great option to make available on a company’s Web site. When this feature is available, a customer who may be browsing around the site has the option to call the company directly using Voice over Internet Protocol technology to speak directly with a company representative and have their question answered. Conferencing is in high demand right now and is expected to continue to grow with the major cuts in business travel as a result of budget cuts overall. Conferencing options help to drive collaboration and effective communication when face-to-face meetings are not possible or are cost-prohibitive. The list of options that are available in the Virtual Office from Phone.com far exceeds the few features listed here. To help you imagine what you may hope to enjoy with such a solution, just imagine every feature you hope to have in a robust communications system and it is likely available in the Virtual Office. But, don’t take my word for it, check out Phone.com to be sure. Susan J. Campbell is a contributing editor for TMCnet and has also written for eastbiz.com.
