Provider of shared Web and e-mail hosting, nGenx (News - Alert) has launched nFinity Desktop SMB Edition, a virtual desktop solution that combines QuickBooks and several of its plug-ins with Microsoft (News - Alert) Office and Exchange inside a Windows 7 experience.

nFinity Desktop enables users to access a fully functional cloud-based desktop with all of the comforts of a locally based desktop. The cloud based e-mail hosting service eliminates the hassle of investing and maintaining an on-premise e-mail hosting and is ideal for small-medium businesses (SMBs).

“With nFinity Desktop SMB Edition, our people can access the applications they need from our office, at home, or wherever they happen to be,” said David Bradsher, president of Bay Business Group, an nGenx customer.

Bradsher said that instead of storing all of the information in the office, it is now stored in an off-site data center that meets the highest industry standards, which has helped the company to practically eliminate its security risks.

In addition to providing the core business productivity and accounting applications, which are used in a majority of small businesses, the newest offering also delivers them as a service securely from the cloud.

Robert Bye, president and CEO at nGenx, said that nFinity Desktop SMB Edition is unlike anything else on the market today.  He said that the company allows SMBs to get the benefits of cloud computing without leaving familiar and productive applications like QuickBooks and Office by making them work seamlessly on a PC, Mac, iPad or Android (News - Alert) device while their data is stored securely in the company’s cloud.

“Our new offering targets SMBs who want to increase agility and improve efficiency but don’t have the depth of technology expertise required to meet that challenge,” Bye added.

With the new virtual desktop solution, SMBs can now select a cost effective bundled option which includes QuickBooks, Microsoft Office, Qvinci, SmartVault, Exchange and more.

In addition, it can also now simplify IT management needs such as e-mail hosting and reduce infrastructure costs by taking the desktops and applications to the cloud. Company officials said that their latest offering ensures that SMBs feel safe in allowing their employees bring their own device (BYOD). All devices can be secured using nFinity Desktop SMB Edition.

Moreover, the SMB solution provides professionally managed data backup and all the data is stored in the nGenx data centers, according to company officials.

Recently, nGenx launched its nFinity Partner Program, which provides support, services and products to make partners successful in cloud application delivery.
