Scottsdale to go 'Virtual' with Virtuon's New Technology CenterVirtuon, a computer systems service provider that specializes in virtualization, business continuity, and cloud computing is expected to unveil a new technology center focused on its area of specialization. The event scheduled to take place on April 28, will be inaugurated by Scottsdale Mayor Jim Lane, with other Virtuon executives, state and community dignitaries, and other Arizona based technology companies attending. To be housed at Arizona State University SkySong, the center will display state-of-the-art cloud computing and virtualization applications, including virtual data centers. Opening of the technology center at the University will provide an opportunity for students from surrounding educational institutions to experiment first-hand with the latest technology. They can test new ideas and also understand how virtualization contributes to the environment. 'This new center is unparalleled in its scope and mission, which is to educate the public about cloud computing technology and the ways to implement these innovative solutions,' Forrest Blair, CEO of Virtuon, said. Blair went on to add that various sectors of industry were cutting down on IT infrastructure costs and reducing energy consumption by employing cloud computing and virtualization. Scheduled to be held on April 28, from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., the event will include tours, food, and technology demos from Virtuon and other local companies and presentations from professors doing research in cloud computing. The center will officially open the doors for Virtuon and promises to be a technology asset and education center within the community. Virtuon and the center are located directly off the main lobby of the SkySong North building in Suite 140 and will initially take up a portion of the 5,000 square foot center. Virtuon deploys a virtualized or private cloud infrastructure complete to the desktop, enabling scalability, flexibility and agility for any business. Virtuon has established a reputation for quality of service, expertise, and experience implementing a breadth of hardware and software solutions. Mini Swamy is a contributing editor for TMCnet.
