Toshiba of Canada and Esna Technologies (News - Alert) have announced a relationship that will deliver a new unified communications platform for the small to mid size enterprise market—Telephony Office-LinX UC application suite for the Toshiba's (News - Alert) Strata CIX family of IP communication systems.

 

This latest solution release represents the next phase in an overall vision to deliver real-time unified communications to the enterprise market, according to company officials.

 

The release of the Telephony Office-LinX application suite enables enterprises access to a range of applications around Presence messaging and mobility offerings. The next phase of this strategy aims to see enhancements in networking, interoperability and migration.

 

The solution integrates Esna Technologies’ Telephony Office-LinX enterprise edition solution with Toshiba's Strata CIX 40/100/200/670 and the recently released 1200 IP communications platform.

 

The Telephony Office-LinX for the Toshiba Strata CIX platform offers an application for unified messaging on Lotus Notes, GroupWise, Exchange 2003/2007, and Google (News - Alert) applications.

 

Also, it provides users with speech to text visual voice mail, and OCTEL/VMX Voice mail emulation. With the Telephony Office-LinX application suite, end users can utilize their wireless or wired telephone to access live calls, email, faxes and voice mail.

 

The solution features touch-tone commands, and using these commands users can prompt their messaging and scheduling utilities. The utilities read back information to users anywhere, anytime and perform real-time modifications.

 

Rick Wierzbowski, director of telecommunication operations at Toshiba of Canada, noted in a statement that in the current business landscape it is critical for “road-warriors” and mobile workers to be highly responsive to the needs of their customers, partners and co-workers.

 

He said that with the Strata CIX IP communication systems and the Telephony Office-LinX UC application suite, enterprises can achieve this cost effectively, regardless of their messaging or scheduling utilities, enabling a compelling return on investment through productivity and efficiency gains while protecting existing IT investments.
