Comverse (News - Alert) has done it again.
One of the foremost suppliers of software and systems enabling network-based multimedia enhanced communication and billing services, Comverse has received the prestigious 2007 Telecom BSS Vendor of the Year award by Frost & Sullivan Asia Pacific-- the third consecutive year the company has won. The award recognizes the most outstanding telecom solutions vendor in the BSS (Business Support Systems) segment in Asia Pacific.
Sin Siew Teyew, director of Telecoms at Frost & Sullivan, said in a statement, "The telecommunications market is moving from a technology-sell to a full-service industry with greater emphasis on consumer lifestyle services. This paradigm shift requires a comprehensive yet flexible BSS system for service providers to achieve differentiation, and position themselves for long term growth in an increasingly competitive market. Comverse fits in perfectly here and is capitalizing on this change, having been involved in many leading operators' business/IT transformation projects."
The recipient of numerous awards, Comverse received its latest accolade at the 2007 Frost & Sullivan Asia Pacific Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Awards. These awards recognize companies and individuals that have pushed the boundaries of excellence - rising above the competition and demonstrating outstanding performance in the ICT industry across the region.
Contenders were evaluated based on key measurements for base year 2006, including revenue growth, market share and growth in market share, leadership in product innovation, breadth of products and solutions, major contracts won, and business and market strategy.
Frost & Sullivan cites the following five strategies executed by Comverse to have significantly contributed to the company’s success within Asia Pacific’s BSS market in 2006:
1) Best geographical presence, covering 96 service providers in 23 countries
2) Engagement with leading Tier-1 operators supporting all lines of business including wireless, fixed, broadband and converged
3) Strategic positioning in high growth telecom markets, such as China and India
4) End-to-end capabilities to serve a wide range of communication needs
5) Partnerships with leading system integrators
We are excited to receive the Frost & Sullivan Asia Pacific ICT award for Telecom BSS Vendor of 2007,” said Eitan Achlow, president of Comverse Asia Pacific, in a statement. “Our leadership presence in the Asia Pacific region, extensive customer footprint and innovative, product-based, real-time customer management solutions, which address all aspects of billing for telecom operators at any stage of network evolution, have enabled Comverse to become the vendor of choice in the region and the world over.
Achlow added, “When added to our sophisticated solutions for IP Communications and value-added services in messaging and content, our Total Communication portfolio places Comverse in a strong position to address the requirements most operators must fulfill to remain competitive in today’s telecom landscape.”
