IT EXPO News: TomatoVine Taps Netcentrex for Voice over Broadband Services
By Johanne Torres, TMCnet Contributing Editor
On Tuesday at the Internet Telephony Conference and EXPO, voice and video systems provider Netcentrex, will announce that it was tapped by TomatoVine to launch voice over broadband services based on the Netcentrex VoIP application servers. The Internet Telephony Conference and EXPO will take place this week at the Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
The deal will enable TomatoVine to initially roll out DID-based telephony services to the top 18 markets. The company's IMS-compliant residential service includes both Onvine Telephony and Onvine Video Calling and can be combined with high speed internet access and IPTV over a common broadband infrastructure for an integrated triple-play offering. TomatoVine also offers a suite of business services including Secure IP Trunking and Hosted IP Centrex with video calling and videomail.
"Netcentrex was the logical choice for a solution designed for virtual service providers in both the residential and enterprise markets," said Tony DiMatteo, TomatoVine vice president. "VSPs targeting the VoBB market including ISPs, municipalities, FTTH providers, IP Centrex ASPs, and CLECs now have the perfect solution for fast time-to-market and low cost of ownership. Our feature-rich solution is also the most future-proof with advanced multi-media and triple play features."
TomatoVine's Virtual Service Provider Solution (VSPS) is a VoIP product that integrates the company's infrastructure by hosting multiple different Virtual Service Providers (VSPs), each delivering customized service bundles to their subscribers. The service providers can keep control over their virtual platform while administering tasks related to ordering, provisioning, and customer care.
"TomatoVine's choice of Netcentrex is a testament to the carrier-grade multi-tenancy of our VoIP Application Servers such as MyCall," said Netcentrex, Inc. CEO David Michaud. "With over 2.5 million lines in service, our application servers' multi-tiered System Management Platform is being used to provision over 5,000 new subscribers every day."
The TomatoVine VSPS can operate seamlessly on Ethernet, Cable, xDSL, WiFi, WiMAX or PLC networks using SIP, H.323 and/or MGCP protocols and supports a wide variety of VoIP phones, softphones, video terminals, and IP-PBXs.
Netcentrex made news back in October when it announced it scored a deal from Charlotte, North Carolina-based InVueTel, a hosted IP-based services provider for the hospitality market. InVueTel picked Netcentrex' MyCall and IPlay3 systems in order to deliver IP-based communications and entertainment services for hotels and other lodging industry properties. The move will enable InVueTel to now offer multi-channel video, on-demand, and pay-per-view, high-speed internet connectivity, VoIP-based telephony service, gaming, and e-commerce.
"Our solution is a future-proof way to increase revenue per available room through new IP services and feature-rich services," noted Edwin Westlake, InVueTel CEO. "In addition, our customers will dramatically increase in-room amenities for guests while optimizing staff utilization and cost of ownership."
