Comverse Nabs Industry Award Fourth Year in a Row

Comverse announced that it has been honored with a Frost & Sullivan (News - Alert) award for the fourth year in a row. Comverse was awarded the 2008 Telecom BSS Vendor of the Year award by the industry analyst firm. According to a release announcing the win, this particular award recognizes the most outstanding telecom solutions vendor in the BSS (business support systems) segment in Asia Pacific.
 
The award was presented during the 2008 Frost & Sullivan Asia Pacific ICT Awards banquet in Singapore.
 
According to Frost & Sullivan, the awards “seek to recognize companies and individuals that have pushed the boundaries of excellence — rising above the competition and demonstrating exemplary growth and performance in the ICT (Information and Communications Technology) industry across the Asia Pacific region.”
 
Nominees were evaluated based on a various performance criteria for the past year, including revenue and revenue growth, portfolio diversity, and major customer wins.
 
Frost & Sullivan described the nomination process. “Nominations are made by a team of Frost & Sullivan experts based on the companies’ actual market performance indicators. Measurement criteria include revenue growth, market share and growth in market share, leadership in product innovation, breadth of products and solutions, major customer acquisitions, subscribers and growth in subscriber base, ARPU (average revenue per user) and growth in ARPU, data strategy and next generation service strategy.”
 
This year, 29 winners were lauded in four categories – enterprise vendors, telecom vendors, service providers and the best of the best.
