A new version of TextMe messaging service is now available in the United Kingdom.
Callers in the nation can now send and receive text messages (SMS) to and from any mobile number in an easy manner.
“With this new version of TextMe, our U.K. users will now enjoy the same great service we offer in the U.S., Canada and Israel. For the first time, anyone in the U.K. can enjoy free SMS directly from a mobile app,” said Christophe Bach, co-founder of TextMe.
Headquartered in San Francisco, Calif., TextMe offers a universal communication application on iOS, Android and Windows Phone (News - Alert). The solution enables users to talk with people across the globe free of cost using various means such as video calls, voice calls and instant messaging.
TextMe sees this release as the most ambitious product launched by TextMe outside of the U.S. and encourages users to visit this link to download the solution.
The company will give customers using TextMe a free local U.K. number and this will allow them to send and receive Text Messages (SMS) to and from any mobile numbers in the U.K.
This service can be used on both Android (News - Alert) and iOS in the UK and is available free of cost.
''Our vision has always been to remove the modern barriers to communicating and provide our users with universal free communication options," Bach added. “We are very dedicated to the UK market. It is a strategic market for TextMe and the feedback from our users in the U.K. has been incredible."
TextMe was in news earlier this year for launching a new version of its flagship Android app at DBX, Dropbox's (News - Alert) first developer conference.
TextMe is integrated with the Dropbox Chooser, which enables users to easily access documents stored in Dropbox.
