The next-generation communications channel known as text messaging can send out important information to a large audience in an extremely short period of time. With that being said, it is no wonder why recruiters looking for qualified employees are leveraging texting as a way to spread the word on newly opened positions while simultaneously cutting costs.
A recent survey conducted by Dialogue Communications, a global messaging solution provider, revealed that almost 90 percent of recruiters currently are utilizing text messaging and the results have been nothing but positive, ranging from better assisting the business by driving the speed of communication, ramping up performance overall and even reducing the expenses associated with contacting individuals who could be a great fit for any company looking to expand its footprint.
"Text messaging is an incredibly reliable and powerful communications tool as these days almost everyone has a mobile phone. In fact there were 326.4 million active devices, including smartphones and feature phones, in the U.S. in 2012 according to research by CTIA (News - Alert)," according to Pinder Takhar, marketing manager of Dialogue Communications.
Findings highlight that recruiters can heighten their level of efficiency significantly when turning to text messaging as the primary means of communication due to the fact that 79 percent of people within the age group of 18-44 now have their smartphones within arm’s reach 22 hours a day. Because of this constant availability, 98 percent of all messages that are received are read within a three-minute time span.
Additionally, Dialogue's customer survey showed that more than 78 percent of recruiters feel that it is now considered key that their company use text messaging in order to much more easily schedule interviews, 76 percent use texts to confirm an interview will still be happening, and 80 percent also turn to text to follow up with candidates after the initial interview.
Another business deeply rooted in the text messaging vertical that truly comprehends the advantages that can be seen when using this solution is TSG Global. According to the firm’s website, “Today’s economy is a global one.
