A country faces the biggest communications challenge when disasters occur. History repeated when a 5.8 magnitude earthquake struck Virginia recently. A large number of people reported they lost cellular phone service when they tried to contact their dear ones during those moments of anxiety.
However, Protected Mobility, the Virginia-based mobile security technology company, claims users of ProtectedSMS, a secure, mobile text messaging product from the company, were able to stay connected when the cellular services failed.
ProtectedSMS from Protected Mobility, the company claims, is the first secure SMS solution produced in the U.S. for companies and professionals who require the highest level of privacy in text messaging. By ensuring SMS security, users can facilitate a secure and cost-effective communications among their mobile workforce as well as ensure business continuity.
William J. Marlow, security expert and founder of Protected Mobility, thinks SMS channel serves as a vital link at times of crisis. Worldwide, it has been proved that SMS serves as the best communications channel when an unprecedented hike in call volumes disrupts voice communications.
"But executives in government, military, law enforcement and critical infrastructure industries can't depend on unprotected text messages because they are so easily compromised,” Marlow added. “Our customers require the highest degree of security and privacy, especially during a crisis."
Protected Mobility has more than 20,000 customers around the globe. Some of them include first responders as well as executives in the banking, energy and healthcare fields.
Recently Protected Mobility announced it has formed a sales development partnership with FaxCore (News - Alert), a provider of Fax over Internet Protocol (FoIP) solutions, for sales development through FaxCore's global network of resellers and distributors.
