Mu Dynamics, Inc., a company specializing in testing IP services, has launched Mu Test Suite 5.0, its first testing solution to emulate complex network scenarios generated from real-world traffic.

With Network equipment manufacturers, service providers and government agencies who wish to quickly deliver high-quality IP services to market are finding testing as extremely challenging, Mu Test Suite 5.0 is said to meet the requirements of these deployments with realistic emulation, increased automation and support of complex communication scenarios and network topologies, further reducing time to test and improving overall service quality.

Key capabilities of Mu Test Suite 5.0 as stated, includes; Multi-host support, which enables testers to now emulate multiple hosts while testing their service. With multi-protocol scenarios, testers can re-create real-world scenarios that involve multi-protocol exchanges, even if the messages are proprietary.  Protocol Auto-markup, yet another capability of Mu Test Suite 5.0 is said to automatically recognize and handle session-specific data across multiple domains such as VOIP, IPTV (News - Alert) and IMS environments, to ensure that the tests are accurately done to emulate the original exchange without user intervention.

Other than this, the new suite also offers support for complex network topologies. Mentioning about flow selection, the company said that this will enable testers to view and select specific flows from large packet captures for the creation of test cases. Testers can then further prune these flows by applying filters on hosts, packets, payload content or protocols.
