Mu Dynamics' IPv6 Solution for Testing IP Services

By Stefanie Mosca, TMCnet Web Editor

With constant advancements of the Internet such as moving from IPv4 layer protocols to the advanced layer of IPv6, Mu Dynamics wants to ensure its customers that with its testing solutions, the transition can be an easy one.

Mu Dynamics (News - Alert), a company in the market of testing IP services provides customers with an innovative approach to testing IPv6 products and services.

According to Wikipedia,IPv6 is an Internet Layer protocol for packet-switched internetworking and provides end-to-end datagram transmission across multiple IP networks. Internet Protocol Version 6 “IPv6” is an updated version of the Internet Protocol that is designed to succeed Internet Protocol version 4 “IPv4”. IPv4 was the first publicly used Internet Protocol and has been in operation since 1981.

By choosing Mu Dynamics for IPv6 testing, customers can reduce the time it takes to test by making it easy to create and execute real-world IPv6 migration testing. Mu’s solution helps to simplify interoperability testing through intelligent automation and improves resilience and security of native IPv6 and transitional systems.

According to Mu Dynamics IPv6 solutions page, the Mu solution enables users to extend their library of IPv4-based test cases so they can be leveraged to test IPv6.  Existing IPv4 test cases can also be converted to IPv6 in an automated fashion using the Mu solution.

Mu Dynamics’ recreation of IPv4 and IPv6 enables users to accurately enable different components in native and dual-stack environments. Its adaptive IPv6 testing approach and its data-driven testing help users rapidly generate thousands of test cases to test the complex interactions of each system.

This IPv6 testing solution provides automatic generation of thousands of malformed fuzz tests. According to Mu, this greatly increases test coverage, helps you find bugs earlier, greatly reducing the cost of fixes by finding the issues as early as possible.
