BrightCom Offers Video, Data Solutions to California Law Firm

By Amy Tierney, TMCnet Web Editor

A Huntington Beach, Calif. provider of integrated telepresence and video conferencing solutions recently added an estate law firm to its client roster.

BrightCom announced that Red Hill Law Group, a Tustin, Calif.-based law firm, is using the company’s video and data conferencing solution to improve internal collaboration and client relations. The firm, which handles estate, business, and tax planning issues, launched BrightCom’s ClearView Conference Room 2000, shown below, by adding a third 52-inch LCD monitor to a customized conference room built for video conferencing.

The technology lets attorneys broadcast meeting materials using high resolution video and audio internally and communicate with clients through an online interface, BrightCom said.

“Collaboration is central to our mission at Red Hill Law Group," David Hiersekorn, a Red Hill Law Group partner, said in a statement. "We were looking for an innovative solution that could bring all of our clients and their professional advisers together in a simple, efficient, and cost-effective way.”

For example, Red Hill Law Group attorneys can share information through presentations, images, and documentation in real time. And unlike other solutions, there’s no need for wire connections such as HDMI, VGA, or wire converters. Users log in to meetings through the Web via laptops, desktops and ClearView conferencing systems.

Participants can then control the meeting floor, share and remotely manipulate desktops and mark up images, video, documents and other business materials such as Adobe PDF and Microsoft (News - Alert) PowerPoint presentations, BrightCom said. What’s more, ClearView video and audio offers a face-to-face connection so Red Hill staff members can communicate with clients or partners. The multi-screen management feature lets users focus on the appropriate materials and broadcasts during a meeting.

Hiersekorn called the technology a “valuable tool” for the firm, adding that it’s an ideal solution for internal meetings, connecting with clients, and working with advisors around the country.

“This system has really changed the way we view collaboration, whether inside our conference room walls or over the Internet,” he said.

BrightCom ClearView Conference Room 2000 is part of a range of options the company offers to connect people and content from home offices, mobile devices, desktops or conference rooms.

The latest client addition shows continued demand for telepresence services. ABI Research (News - Alert), a New York-based research firm, predicted that global revenue from managed telepresence services will surpass $360 million by 2011.

BrightCom Chief Executive Officer Bob McCandless said businesses like Red Hill can benefit from the company’s ability to instantly connect users.

“It shows how video conferencing or telepresence systems can be available for everyday collaboration and not just for specifically planned meetings or complex presentations,” McCandless said in a statement.
