B2B Boosts Telemarketing Business

By Colleen Lynch, TMCnet Contributor

B2B may sound like the name of a boy band from the 90s,but it actually stands for “business to business,” a form of telemarketing that started in – you guessed it – the 90s. When a company markets various products and services through the phone, it is called B2B. Currently, B2B telemarketing is known worldwide as one of if not the most effective marketing medium for business-to-consumer companies.

Don’t get confused just get, though. Business-to-consumer companies, or B2Cs, can use B2B telemarketing, as it is a form of telemarketing which incorporates different marketing mediums to manipulate.

To set up a B2B service within your company, you can take one of two routes; outsourcing, or creating your own in-house department. Companies with bigger budgets can afford to create an in-house department for B2B services, but those with little to no budget for the top marketing schemes are generally safer choosing to outsource to a third party provider.

Once the service is set up, there are loads of features the company can put to use to help them amp up their marketing efforts. B2B helps build and boost brand awareness (say that ten times fast), and makes managing multiple prospects and projects much easier.

With B2B’s appointment setting, inviting multiple guests to business conventions or trade shows is no problem. Lead generation is the dominant reason why businesses choose telemarketing in general, but B2B’s lead generation offerings make them a premier choice.

Businesses equipped with B2B have seen higher penetration rates when getting in touch with C-level executives, for instance. There may be rumors that cold-calling is dead, but studies show it is still being used as a way to connect with contacts, customers, and partners. This means that companies choosing B2B aren’t going with a dying service, but employing a consistently stable product, and making a lasting investment for their business.
