Storage Engine, a provider of high-performance data storage solutions for the enterprise, has introduced an enhancement with the Synchronix 4140 data storage array, which delivers a 20 to 30 percent boost in performance compared with the SX4130.
Company officials said that the performance is the result of quad 8Gb Fiber Channel interface, 6Gb iSCSI backplanes and expansion ports and chipset.
"With this enhanced array, Storage Engine continues to deliver exceptional performance, modularity, interoperability and great value to all enterprises," said Gregg Azcuy, president at Storage Engine.
Moreover, the SX4140 offers the same enterprise class features as previous generations. This includes protection from silent data corruption, said company officials.
In addition to being compliant with Synchronism, the SX4140 also supports 2TB disk technology for large and deep data storage needs, along with various other SAS (News - Alert) 15K and SATA disk technology.
Synchronism is an enterprise virtualization technology. Company officials said that the compliance with Synchronism provisions data storage heterogeneously cross platforms, environments, continuous data processing and storage acceleration and addresses DR and compliance needs.
Plus, the SX4140 also has advanced features like background disk and cache scrubbing as well as raid groups of up to 144 drives, raid 6 and triple mirror support.
Company officials said that the SX4140 is now available.
