Radisys Corporation, a provider of ATCA-based telecom platform deployment solutions, is supplying its T-Series ATCA platform to support ViaSat’s (News - Alert) next generation satellite-based broadband infrastructure.

ViaSat’s satellite-based broadband is capable of delivering more than 12Mbps Internet connectivity in both land and in-the-air connections.  

The satellite communication infrastructure enables cable/fiber-like Internet access to all customers within a satellite footprint without any compromises, according to company officials.

The satellite communications provider chose Radisys’ T-Series telecom platform deployment solution to meet its time-to-market, performance and capacity targets.

The application-ready ATCA platform solution enables ViaSat to focus its resources on developing its application. The solution also allows the company to easily transition to next-generation 40G ATCA platforms in the future so that it can boost performance and meet capacity demands as needed and with minimal risk and investment.
