Radisys' Trillium LTE Solution Supports Small Cell Development at Qucell

Radisys Corporation, a provider of advanced telecom platform deployment solutions, has just revealed that Qucell, a U.S.-based firm, has selected Radisys’ Trillium TOTALeNodeB software to develop and deploy LTE (News - Alert) small cells.
TOTALeNodeB enables a scalable, dual-mode solution that delivers high performance small cells.
The U.S. based company selected Radisys’ Trillium TOTALeNodeB software to support the development of residential, enterprise and public access small cells that support up to 64 users.
According to Mark Choi, CEO of Qucell, Trillium TOTALeNodeB demonstrated the best performance and scalability and delivered e unique advantages on next-generation silicon. The solution also provided a well-constructed roadmap that can be used to deliver current and next-generation technology.
Radisys has continued to invest capital to support LTE standards and small cell applications development, including Operations Administration and Maintenance (OAM). As part of this plan, the company powers a small cell product solution for LTE, enabling both FDD and TDD products. It also supports dual mode with 3G Femtotality software.
“Radisys offers high-performing and cost-effective LTE and 3G small cell software solutions—making the decision an obvious one for us as we explored multi-mode solution options to carry us into the next generation of small cell development,” Choi added in a statement.
The telecom platform deployment providers experience in deploying 3G and LTE small cell solutions as well as its ability to deliver flexibility has helped the company win customers like Qucell. As a result, Qucell was able to choose the optimal silicon for each of its small cell products, according to Amit Agarwal, vice president and general manager, Software and Solutions at Radisys.
“In addition, Qucell is able to leverage our local support and wide array of professional services to achieve much faster time to market in the aggressive Korean small cell market and the worldwide market,” Agarwal concluded.
Currently, Radisys’ small cell solutions are being deployed in the Korean, Japanese and North American markets.
