National Technical Systems (NTS (News - Alert)), a provider of engineering services for automotive, aerospace, defense and telecom platform deployments, has just formed a commercial Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) testing partnership with Emerson (News - Alert) Network Power, a provider of technology and services, to support critical telecom platforms and communications infrastructure.

The strategic alliance focuses on offering a wide range of commercial testing and regulatory EMC compliance services to product manufacturers. Under this agreement, NTS will oversee operations at Emerson Network Power (News - Alert) internal product testing laboratory in Tempe, AZ.

"The partnership with Emerson provides us with an excellent opportunity to expand our service offerings and bandwidth for the important and growing customer base in the Southwest region while complementing NTS' current Tempe presence," said NTS President and CEO, William McGinnis, in a statement.

Initially, the lab will be open to product manufacturers for offering EMC (News - Alert) testing services provided by NTS. In the not so distant future, however, the companies plan to expand the test laboratory to include additional testing and certification services such as product safety and environmental/dynamics services.

Both NTS and Emerson have also achieved certification of the Emerson lab for the Verizon (News - Alert) NEBS Testing Certification Witnessing Program (TCWP), enabling the lab to test and certify equipment for usage in the Verizon telecom network. In fact, NTS currently operates more Verizon-certified test laboratories than any other company in the world.
