To further corroborate the company’s competence in NEBS testing, Emerson Network Power has just been approved to perform its own GR-1089 NEBS qualification testing, via the Verizon (News - Alert) NEBS Testing Certification Witnessing Program.

According to Brian Brown, vice president and general manager of Marketing and Services for Emerson Network Power’s Embedded Computing business, Verizon NEBS TestingCertification underlines the company’s unrivalled depth and breadth of experience and expertise in telecom platforms.

“As one of the pioneers of integrated, application-ready ATCA systems, we are proud to be able to offer this new level of service to our customers and help them gain competitive advantage by trusting Emerson as their partner,” Brown added in a statement.

Brown also stated the company will continue to invest in R&D and other initiatives that help its customers get to market faster, with less risk and with a differentiated product.

Verizon NEBS Testing Certification also means that Emerson Network Power can now provide a more complete and faster service to its customers, especially smaller telecom equipment manufacturers who don’t have the facilities to perform these tests in house.

By leveraging the company’s early product development service program, telecom equipment manufacturers can reduce their post development qualification cycle time by 25 percent thanks to its in-house capability.

The certification is awarded following a recent successful audit by Verizon, in association with National Technical Systems (NTS (News - Alert)), a Verizon-approved independent test lab. As a result, Emerson is now able to test and certify systems to the GR-1089 specification in its own global headquarters facility in Tempe, Ariz.
