CSP (News
- Alert) MultiComputer Division, a supplier of commercially developed rugged embedded hardware for telecom platform deployments, has selected Gedae, an application development environment consisting of a language, compiler and thread scheduler, to meet the needs of customers for multicore software tools.
The partnership allows CSPI MultiComputer Division to market, sell and distribute the development environment complete with its high performance embedded computing systems. It will enhance the set of application development tools available to CSPI customers, expediting time to deployment by reducing the complexity of programming on advanced multicore systems with complex memory architectures.
The 4000 SERIES AdvancedTCA product line targets applications where NEBS compliance meets the most critical environmental requirements for defense and commercial mobile platforms.
These products integrate the established PICMG 3.1 Ethernet ATCA architecture, Intel (News
- Alert) Xeon multicore processors and the high performance 40Gb Quad Data Rate (QDR) InfiniBand scalable interconnect. The service also includes an automated build system and a tool suite supporting development activities.
The compiler is the central component of Gedae and automatically optimizes the software targeted for multiprocessor, multicore or heterogeneous systems beneficial to CSPI's TeraXP OpenVPX Embedded Servers and 4000 SERIES AdvancedTCA (News - Alert) product line.
"We are excited to offer our customers this tool set that allows for rapid development of signal processing solutions and the very quick dynamic reallocation of processes in multicore environments for optimum tuning of performance," said Paul Martino, director of U.S. Sales, CSPI, in a statement.
TeraXP embedded servers have an architecture featuring Intel Xeon multicore processors, GPGPU co-processors, InfiniBand FDR technology, and an optical data plane for rapid technology insertion and future processing growth.
"We are pleased with CSPI's selection of Gedae's !dea Development Environment as the solution to their customer's demands for multicore software tools," added Bill Lundgren, president and CEO at Gedae. "!dea makes it easy to get the best performance from CSPI's top of the line computing systems. This agreement represents a significant event in Gedae's growth."
