Telecom Platform Deployments Enhanced with NEI

By Jamie Epstein, TMCnet Web Editor

As telecom platform deployments continue to advance at a rapid pace, it can be tough for communication providers to measure up to increasing demands stemming from next-generation technologies, including 4G wireless networks. Telecom equipment manufacturers are forced to overcome several obstacles before deploying these platforms, such as prohibitive costs and the time spent integrating these offerings into legacy systems.

Luckily, with help from NEI (News - Alert), these challenges can be eliminated once and for all.

NEI powers an extensive portfolio that includes the Lifecycle Engine for Application Deployment (LEAD) system and carrier communications platforms, in addition to enterprise communications platforms that have been developed from the ground up.  NEI leverages this experience to work with a variety of best-in-class solutions that hit the various requirements outlined by rigorous requirements found in ATCA, NEBSs and DC power suites.

First, the LEAD () system is present from the inception of any project, powering key design and engineering applications that will help get new products off the ground quickly. It encompasses mission critical tasks, including solution design, system integration, application management and global logistics that are utilized to significantly reduce the complexity associated with both transitioning and managing these solutions.

According to the company’s website, “NEI redefines application deployment by applying our domain expertise and knowledge of ATCA, NEBS and DC powered servers to solve complex design, integration and deployment problems. These platforms offer a variety of expansion slots and I/O options required for installing high-end telephony boards, high-performance multi-core processors and high-reliability features such as RAID and redundant power. In addition, with several years experience developing ATCA systems and as an executive member of PICMG (News - Alert) 3 standards body, NEI has a thorough understanding of ATCA design and integration requirements, including power and thermal requirements for high-end communications blades.”

Additionally, several telecom platform applications are available from NEI, all of which can increase efficiency and quality of overall communications, including IP PBX (News - Alert) solutions, recording, VoIP, and media gateways that offer high availability and reliability that can dramatically cut costs.

NEI is always looking toward the future and continues to form strategic alliances with other major companies. It truly understands that time to market is what organizations must concentrate on to maintain their competitive edge and simultaneously enhance vital core competencies.
