Overture Minimizes Configuration Complexities in Telecom Platform Deployment
By Rajani Baburajan, TMCnet Contributor
One of the latest trends in telecom platform deployments is the shift toward architecture capable of supporting 40G Ethernet.
Overture supports telecom platform deployment across the world by acting as the preferred carrier Ethernet edge and aggregation partner for service providers and network operators.
The company has just enhanced its Ethernet demarcation device, the latest addition to its Ethernet over bonded copper (EoC) family. With innovative automatic pair bonding capabilities, the new EoC demarcation solution extends service reach and minimizes configuration complexities.
The new Overture 4000cphelps service providers and network operators deliver hundreds of Mbps of premium Ethernet services to areas outside of existing fiber networks. It also helps carriers magnify their return from readily available copper networks while reducing capital expenditures.
This telecom offering is MEF (News - Alert)-certified for E-Line, E-LAN, and E-Tree operations. With NEBS level 3 certification, rugged construction, and environmental hardening features, it has been designed from the ground up to meet the requirements of a variety of telecom platform deployment needs.
Further, the 4000cp can cost-effectively bond up to 24 copper pairs at up to 15 Mbps per copper pair to expedite service turn-up and eliminate errors typically associated with manual configuration as well as incorporates all of the advanced service features and powerful management capabilities of Overture’s other EoC and optical products.
This offering fits into the Overture product line between the two, four, or 8-pair Overture 400 series and the 32 pair demarcation capabilities of the Overture 6100.
“With our new 4000cp, service providers can quickly capitalize on unrealized revenue opportunities by extending high-speed performance assured Ethernet services beyond their current optical boundaries,” said Vijay Raman, vice president product management and marketing, Overture, in a statement.
Thanks to its familiar CLI and its feature-rich, embedded Web-based GUI, the Overture 4000cp minimizes the learning curve. The easy-to-use solution also features Service OAM, service activation testing, traffic capture, and other advanced management tools to streamline performance verification and SLA assurance.
