BEEcube to Launch All-Programmable Telecom Platform Deployment Solution in 2013

BEEcube, a provider of equipment for telecom platform deployment, pre-announced its new platform for telecom applications – BEE7–at the recently concluded PT/EXPO COMM China 2012, in Beijing, China.
The company provides end-to-end commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) systems including the hardware, firmware and software for high performance processing telecom platform applications. Their products are built around Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) microchips and present a large number of high-speed interfaces from standards relevant to a wide range of networking and high performance computing applications.
With plans to officially launch BEE7 sometime in 2013, it features the latest Xilinx (News - Alert) Virtex-7 family of FPGAs and high-speed standard interfaces into an ATCA blade directly deployable in the field. It also comes with 128 GB DDR3 ECC RDRAM, 720 Gbps backplane throughput, 768 Gbps Rear Transmission Module (RTM) throughput, 800 Gbps FPGA Mezzanine Card (FMC) throughput, four FMC front panel slots for ADC (News - Alert)/DAC cards and RTM cards for networking interfaces and PCI Express connections. The solution will also include desktop and 2U rack mount options.
During the event, the company also showcased its telecom platform deployment product line including the BEE4 Real-Time Prototyping Platform for highly demanding projects, and the miniBEE "R&D in a Box (News - Alert)" platform designed to corporate R&D with smaller designs.

The BEE7 blade and associated RTMs are designed to support wireline and wireless telecom platform deployment scenarios such as LTE (News - Alert)-Advanced RRU+BBU (Remote Radio Units and Baseband Unit), MIMO Wi-Fi, microwave backhaul links, Software Defined Radio (SDR) and Software Defined Networking (SDN). Currently, those applications are being implemented in BEE4 units and the solution works with BEEcube and third party mixed-signal FMC cards.
