In a significant telecom platform deployment deal, Lightspeed Communications, Bahrain, a fixed line telecommunications operator and an affiliate of France Telecom (News - Alert), has expanded its network by deploying Squire Technologies products and services.

Lightspeed has selected Session Border Controller (SBC) and Media Gateway (News - Alert) solutions from Squire Technologies due to the high performance of Squire over the past 12 months, as well as the success delivered by Squire solutions in several recent telecom platform deployment scenarios.

The operator first deployed the SS7 Media Gateway from Squire in 2010. Building on the success of this solution, Lightspeed approached Squire to find an SBC solution that could support industry standard protocols, allowed for a high level of customization, and would support the operator’s ongoing use of legacy infrastructure.
