Radisys, a partner of telecom platform deployment provider NEI (News - Alert), has recently inked a partnership with Polaris Wireless, a provider of software-based wireless location solutions, to increase operational efficiency of Polaris Wireless’ OmniLocate location solution.

The OmniLocate location platform from Polaris Wireless enables network operators and government agencies to ensure public safety, surveillance and other location-based services.

“The Radisys application-ready ATCA platform was the best fit for Polaris Wireless because it minimized the system integration and validation on our end, giving us the fastest time-to-market and lowest cost for application development,” said Zaheer Allam, senior vice president of Telecom Products and Operations, Polaris Wireless, in a statement.

“Furthermore, by leveraging this common platform, we are poised to leverage the roadmap to improving our customers’ OPEX (News - Alert) and CAPEX in addition to introducing new products and revenue streams,” Allam added.

The telecom platform deployment solution has helped Polaris Wireless improve the scalability and upgradability of its OmniLocate platform for emergency call management (E911) and security applications.  The wireless solutions provider has also enhanced the performance of the platform using the latest processor technology.

The migration was completed in an extremely short period of time, thanks to Radisys’ complete telecom platform deployment solution and support for Linux open source platform. In less than six months, Polaris was able to begin utilizing the Radisys x86 solution.
