NEBS: NEI Adds Manufacturing Facility and Technology Support Center in Ireland

By Anil Sharma, TMCnet Contributor

(NEBS)

NEI, a provider of NEBS, application platforms, appliances and lifecycle support services for software developers, OEMs and service providers worldwide, has expanded its European manufacturing and support capabilities with the addition of a manufacturing facility and technology support center in Galway, Ireland.

Officials with NEI (News - Alert) said that the Galway facility is expected to help NEI to more efficiently meet worldwide demand for its products, deliver comprehensive global logistics, and offer technology support services to customers serving markets abroad.

“The Ireland facility is part of NEI’s growth strategy and expansion into Europe,” said Greg Shortell, CEO of NEI.

Shortell said that it gives the company greater in-territory control over order fulfillment, inventory flow, supply chain management, and regulatory certifications.

“By building a European presence, we will be reducing the time and trans-Atlantic delays associated with shipping products, handling evaluation units and providing support, maintenance and repairs for European customers,” he said.

Compant officials said that European expansion also affords the company a distinct competitive advantage when quoting new business opportunities and streamlining support services for its multi-national customers.

Risk management and business continuity are key business challenges overcome by utilizing NEI’s global resources and multiple production sites.

According to company officials, all Galway capabilities, services and processes will be identical to and fully integrated with those of NEI’s U.S.-based facilities located in Canton, Massachusetts and Plano, Texas.

By bringing NEI’s high-quality manufacturing processes, logistics and global support services to the international marketplace, NEI expects to better help customers succeed abroad.

Back in December, NEI announced that its facilities in Canton, Massachusetts and Plano, Texas have passed annual renewal and are now combined under one common certification. As such, NEI has maintained its company-wide ISO 9001:2008 registration, and its facilities in Plano and Canton employ a unified Quality Leadership System (QLS) that is fully compliant with both TL9000 and ISO 9001:2008 requirements.

TL9000 is a more stringent telecommunications quality standard for management and measurement systems, which includes all of the elements of ISO 9001.
