Emerson Network Power Offers Design Solution for Neusoft's Health Management System
By Rajani Baburajan, TMCnet Contributor
Emerson Network Power, a provider of solutions that enable business critical continuity, announced its first design solution for Chinese IT solutions provider Neusoft’s personal health care system, the Healthcare Integrated Portable device (HIP).
HIP is a portable medical data-collection terminal used by healthcare providers to supply medical services to patients in remote locations. It collects a number of medical measurements including blood pressure, blood oxygen, pulse rate, ECG, breathing, body temperature and more.
The HIP features a color touch screen that makes for easy operation in the home and other remote locations with 3G and WiFi access to upload the data to the hospital’s network and data storage.
Emerson (News - Alert) Network Power’s services team implemented a complete design, build, and support solution in China with local expertise, backed by a wide range of high quality, off-the-shelf motherboards to get a jump-start on the development of the Neusoft application, company officials said.
The design solution also include a camera, microphone and stereo speakers, memory and storage, 3G and WiFi (News - Alert) wireless modules, power supplies, and a color touch-screen display. The team then rapidly integrated the embedded components into a functional case needed for Neusoft’s HIP remote healthcare application.
Using Embedded Computing design services enabled Neusoft to focus on the parts of the HIP device that were truly important to the final application and in the process save three to twelve months of design time, company officials said.
“Emerson Network Power (News - Alert) is an important partner in enabling the success of Neusoft's Xikang Healthcare Solution,” said Liu Jiren, chairman and CEO of Neusoft Corporation, in a statement.
“Leveraging Emerson Network Power’s experience and capabilities in China, we have been able to greatly speed up the availability of the Xikang terminal to the market while ensuring uncompromised quality and reliability,” Jiren added. “We are looking forward to working with Emerson Network Power to expand the Xikang service outside China.”
Emerson Network Power is a Premier member in the global Intel Embedded Alliance.
Recently Emerson Network Power announced partnership with Mercury Computer Systems to promote interoperability on open standards-based subsystems for military and aerospace applications, TMCnet reported.
