NEI Offered Membership into Intel's Embedded Alliance Program

By Beecher Tuttle, TMCnet Contributor

(NEBS)

Officials with NEI (News - Alert), a global provider of lifecycle support services, application platforms and carrier-grade NEBS servers, recently announced that the company has been selected to become part of Intel’s (News - Alert) Embedded Alliance Program.

The technology giant offered to partner with NEI after assessing the company’s manufacturing capacity, design capability, quality assurance procedures as well as its tools and support. Intel was particularly impressed with NEI’s dedication to developing modular, standards-based solutions that utilize Intel technologies.

NEI’s inclusion into the Embedded Alliance Program is highly advantageous for enterprise software developers who use Intel architecture to leverage x86-based ecosystem support and employ NEI’s Element Manager platform for complete lifecycle support of appliance solutions. NEI Element Manager facilitates the automated health management and remote monitoring of deployed appliances, which guarantees higher availability.

Being a member of Intel’s membership alliance offers a number of benefits to NEI and their customer base, which includes software developers, OEMs and service providers. The company is now capable of developing Intel’s architectures and embedded technologies in a much more efficient manner, allowing NEI to better serve their customers by streamlining the product development cycle. The collaboration will also allow clients to better manage, maintain and monitor their applications

“Being selected to participate in Intel’s Embedded Alliance initiative is a testament to our application lifecycle support services, from system design and deployment through our aftermarket support services,” said Jeff Hudgins (News - Alert), vice president of marketing at NEI.

“Our Element Manager is a tremendous value-added tool and we are pleased to be able to offer a more complete product lifecycle solution to the Intel ecosystem,” he added. “NEI is joining a select group of providers who will be developing and delivering the next generation of computing technologies to the marketplace and the tools that will manage and provision them in the field.”

In related news, NEI recently partnered with Dell (News - Alert) to create a range of customized PowerEdge solutions for the telecommunications space.

The portfolio of NEI-manufactured Dell-based solutions includes E-2710, a Dell PowerEdge R710 platform modified for DC-power operation, and S-2510, a DC-powered version of Dell’s R-510 2U storage platform.
