AirWatch (News - Alert) by VMware, a leading enterprise mobility management provider (EMM), has introduced AirWatch Video, an enterprise video distribution application that works with content delivery network (CDN) operators to simplify video distribution, manage permissions for sensitive video content and deliver real time updates from a central console. Many IT pros face obstacles in distribution, access control, data loss prevention and telecom expense management, as agencies begin to use video for internal communications. AirWatch is designed to help IT experts overcome these hurdles and allow organizations to use video content for a variety of functions.
End users often require access to different content depending on their role within the organization. AirWatch allows users to view recent or trending videos, favorite them and download them for offline viewing. IT administrators are permitted to manage compliance settings and establish security policies on the platform, according to GCN. AirWatch will enable them to restrict viewing to Wi-Fi only in order to prevent data charges and to view statistics. It will also deliver analytics and statistics for training and compliance for agencies which require video training completion before granting access to secure information.
"AirWatch Video will bring a traditionally costly and complicated undertaking into a simple-to-manage product that integrates with the EMM solutions our customers already use,” said John Marshall (News - Alert), senior vice president and general manager of AirWatch by VMware. “In addition to detailed usage information critical for training and compliance, organizations benefit from a seamless approach to automatically get the right video content to the right user based on their role in the organization.”
AirWatch Video is expected to be available publicly by the end of Q4 2014. Contact AirWatch sales or a local AirWatch reseller partner for pricing.
