In these challenging business times, there’s not much better than landing a government contract. The work is steady, the money is assured, and if you do a good job, you could be in line for even more work down the road.
That’s why WidePoint Corp., a provider of secured, cloud-based, enterprise-wide solutions and services in mobile communications management and identity management solutions, is celebrating these days. The company landed not one, but two federal contacts, one for the Federal Communications Commission (FCC (News - Alert)), and the other for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The contracts call for the company to provide wireless managed services, including telecom expense management (TEM). The contracts were awarded to WidePoint’s subsidiary, iSYS LLC.
"We are honored to continue our support of CDC," said Jin Kang, EVP and Chief Operations Officer of WidePoint, in a prepared statement. "CDC relies heavily on mobile communications services, and the iSYS wireless management services can deliver tangible savings."
The deal calls for iSYS to deliver wireless management solutions for all of both agencies’ mobile devices and services, including complete outsourcing and consolidation across multiple services and providers for mobile device ordering, service renewals, and services changes. The contract with the FCC is for one year; the CDC deal is also for a year, but has four one-year option periods, with a total contract value of about $1.8 million.
Requirements under terms of the agreement include “….ordering; procurement; asset and inventory management; rate plan and contract optimization; invoice management and contract compliance services; dispute recovery; help desk; and device recycling services.”
This is not the first time iSYS has been awarded a government contract. The CDC has been a customer of iSYS’s TEM services since May 2006, and in 2010, the general Services Administration (GSA (News - Alert)) recognized the CDC with an Award for Cost Effectiveness, acknowledging the CDC TEM Program Team for excellence and cost-savings.
iSYS wireless management solutions are part of WidePoint's complete Managed Mobility Services offering, which was recently recognized by Gartner (News - Alert) Inc. with its inclusion of WidePoint in Gartner's first Magic Quadrant for Managed Mobility Services.
