Another Telecom Cost Management Co. in the Fold: Tellenium Joins TEMIA

By Erin Harrison, Senior Editor

The Tellennium Group recently joined the Telecommunications Expense Management Industry Association, an industry group focused on helping organizations achieve so-called optimal telecom expense management results.

TEMIA’s (News - Alert) mission is to raise awareness and knowledge of the values and benefits of TEM solutions, to improve the quality and value of TEM solutions through the development and promotion of industry standards, and industry knowledge among TEM providers, business partners, telecom service providers, and enterprise clients.

“Being a part of TEMIA helps drive greater awareness of our industry and adds strength in numbers to carriers for the betterment of clients,” said Greg McIntyre, president of Tellennium. “It’s a growth industry. Tellennium has grown at a double-digit pace every year since inception and will continue to grow for the foreseeable future.”

TEMIA was founded in late 2006 by the country’s largest telecom expense management service providers that cumulatively manage $31 billion of telecom and data spend. TEMIA’s mission is to raise awareness and knowledge of the benefits of TEM solutions, to improve the quality and value of TEM solutions through the development and promotion of industry standards, and to cultivate shared industry knowledge among TEM providers, business partners, telecom service providers, and enterprise clients.

In a recent TMCnet article, McIntyre said the hard dollar benefits of telecom expense management are quite clear and easy to define.

“Our organization averages 28 percent in credits and savings for our clientele and 84 percent of it comes from erroneous billing/charges and services not used,” he said.

The soft dollar benefits include “dramatic” time savings for both finance and IT/telecom in many areas: finance; telecom invoice processing time; invoice approvals; allocation and payment; imaging, filing, archiving, and storage; IT/telecom; centralized reporting and search availability for all services and equipment; centralized move, add, change tracking; proactive notifications; and location details.

According to Tellennium officials, the company’s clients average over 20 percent net cost savings across their entire telecom spend and we guarantee a positive net result from its collective services.
