Intervoice Launches Enhanced Media Exchange with HomeZone

By Stefania Viscusi, TMCnet Assistant Editor

Unified Communications (News - Alert) provider, Intervoice, announced today the latest enhancement to their Media Exchange platform, bringing multimodal applications to the HomeZone personal interaction framework.

The solution gives subscribers the ability to navigate seamlessly and simultaneously between applications independent of network infrastructure and helps facilitate the transition from traditional TDM applications and services to SIP and IMS.

HomeZone offers the ability to mange personal data like profiles, login contacts and greetings and has been enhanced thanks to Intervoice's (News - Alert) SCXML. As a news release explains when using a mobile device SCXML makes it possible in a single session to multitask seamlessly and simultaneously between applications regardless of network infrastructure. The use of SCXML also makes it easier to transition apps to SIP and IMS. The new version includes the ability to evolve with the network, so there is no need for upgrades or rewrites when moving from TDM to SIP and IMS since apps written in SCXML can be changed to CCXML or SIP.

"Delivering a common look and feel' customized end-user experience is becoming a key objective for service providers as the needs for service differentiation and subscriber retention increase," said Ronald Gruia, principal telecom analyst, Frost & Sullivan in a statement to the press. "With its latest release of Media Exchange, Intervoice has demonstrated its strong commitment to helping operators achieve these goals via HomeZone, a user interface that is extensible and customizable by the carrier, while being as simple or complex as required by the subscriber. This latest release of Media Exchange represents an important milestone for Intervoice as the company positions itself as a top-echelon player in the carrier messaging market."
