Intervoice Signs New Contract to Support Mobile Video Messaging

Speech technologies provider Intervoice (News - Alert), announced today the signing of a new contract  worth an estimated $4.8 million, with a Middle East mobile operator looking to strengthen their offering in the growing market for mobile video messaging services.
To do so, the mobile operator added capacity to the Intervoice Media Exchange Platform they already had in place to make it capable enough to handle video messaging features and also added Intervoice's Video Messaging application.
The new purchase will allow the mobile operator to offer their subscribers the latest in video capabilities in the mobile space. In the past, these services were difficult to achieve because of bandwidth issues.
The newest feature of the Intervoice Media Exchange Platform is the "HomeZone" which supports a "plug-in" frame work for quickly and easily adding new applications and services. It also provides easy management of subscriber information as well as business intelligence elements.
"By developing an easy-to-use customer interface that works in a mobile environment yet uses core technology standards to support video, Intervoice has integrated the industry's most popular features and services into one flexible and scalable multimedia platform," commented Jim Milton, Intervoice chief operating officer in a statement.
"Our customer – a highly competitive operator with more than 11 million subscribers in the Middle East—recognized how Media Exchange with video can be a key competitive advantage when it's used at the heart of new service offerings. Video technology gives our customers the opportunity the revolutionize the services they offer to their subscribers," also commented Milton.
Intervoice made headlines recently when they announced their Messaging Gateway (News - Alert) solution received accolades along with others at the 12th Annual GSM Association Global Mobile Awards, which honored their support in helping to continually advance the mobile industry.
