Intervoice (News - Alert) Inc., provider of speech technologies, announced recently a new vice president of Americas sales.

 

Walter Megura will join the Intervoice executive team and in his position be responsible for sales and business development for the Western hemisphere.

 

This appointment is of specific significance for Intervoice as the Western hemisphere makes up 60 percent of their business.

 

Headquartered in Dallas, Intervoice also has offices in Europe, the Middle East, South America, Africa and Asia-Pacific and has completed more than 23,000 implementations worldwide.

 

Maguera brings to the position senior leadership experience from Nortel (News - Alert), where he held positions in North America sales for the company and most recently their IPTV and global broadband business. Prior to Nortel Maguera also held other high technology sales and management positions including positions at EMC (News - Alert) and Comdisco.

Earlier this week, Intervoice made headlines when they announced a partnership with BEA Systems (News - Alert) to integrate the Intervoice Media Exchange Enhanced Services Platform with BEA Systems WebLogic SIP Server in a bid to facilitate the adoption of IMS communications services like voiceSMS, voicemail and videomail.
