Further improving their text to speech technology, Loquendo (News - Alert) announced today the release of its latest version of Loquendo TTS, version 7.3.
The new version boasts new availability for Java programmers via a powerful Java API
layer as well as a new algorithm to improve voice intelligibility in noisy environments.
The new algorithm, Dynamic Range Control, built into Loquendo TTS Director Tool, makes it possible to adapt audio using simple runtime controls. In this way different audio devices and speakers are tuned to improve voice intelligibility even when it's noisy.
According to a company news release, Loquendo's latest version now also "supports a huge number of different text encodings, accepting input text in utf-16, utf-8, iso-8859-x, oem, windows-12xx, etc. and has full support for "the X-SAMPA phonetic alphabet, as well as the SAMPA variants from TeleAtlas and Navteq." SAMPA is a machine-readable phonetic alphabet.
Along with this new release, Loquendo also announced today the availability of Kerem, their latest male Turkish voice complete with Loquendo's emotional component and bringing the company's portfolio to offer 21 languages and 51 voices.
