A Turin, Italy- based speech technologies provider has announced its text-to-speech or “TTS” technology was chosen to power future navigation products for an American automotive electronics manufacturer.
Officials with Loquendo said their TTS solution will be added to future navigation products from Alpine Electronics of America for reading directions, street addresses and points of interest.
Loquendo (News - Alert) TTS is a fluent and highly expressive speech solution available in a wide range of voices and languages. The software brings natural sounding voices that can read any kind of dynamic data prompts and includes pronunciation accuracy, natural timbre and intonation.
According to Luisa Cordano, sales manager of Embedded Technologies at Loquendo, this partnership is a key strategic move for the company.
"We are pleased to work with such a world-renowned brand and to help improve the driving experience for Alpine customers,” Cordano said.
Using Loquendo's expressive, clear, natural and fluent voices, TTS technology can easily replace costly, time-consuming pre-recordings and enable rapid deployment of vocal services for banking, government, live news, e-learning, entertainment, and more.
Recently, Loquendo announced enhancements to version 7.8 of Loquendo ASR including the ability to export word lattices, improved recognition accuracy for British and English, and reduced time for building an Adapted Acoustic Model.
