In-car telematics just got better thanks to a new partnership between speech technology provider Loquendo and Magneti Marelli.
Brining the innovation of technology together with the ease and convenience of speech, the companies announced today that Magneti Marelli's MMSE 4G Navigation and Full Multimedia platform will include Loquendo's multi-lingual Automotive Text-to-Speech Solution.
With this new integration, the car navigator's performance will be enhanced and will provide natural sounding, intelligible directions and information for users in a number of languages.
With Loquendo's mixed language capabilities it's even possible for the system to read aloud street names and foreign names with ease.
The device is more than just a sophisticated satellite navigation system, it also offers an Internet connection and fast access to emergency and breakdown services
The new infotelematic system has also been enhanced with a 30GB hard drive so users can store music and maps and also features the inclusion of a 3D graphic processor and an improvement of the systems audio performance.
In Europe and Asia, market leaders have already caught onto the benefits the device offers and have installed the system for their customers.
